Research Interests:

Our lab studies the HIV-1 protein Nef, and its host cell interaction partners. My project is focused on the interaction between Nef and Tec family kinases. I use X-ray crystallography and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), among other biophysical techniques, to study this interesting structural interface. By studying the interaction it may be possible to design small molecules to disrupt Nef :Tec binding, thus helping to treat HIV infection.
