Research information

Research in the Islam lab seeks to understand the role of epigenetic mechanisms particularly chemical modifications on DNA and histones in eukaryotic gene regulation. We take a multidisciplinary approach that integrates organic synthesis, protein engineering, mechanistic biochemistry, proteomics and transcriptomics in order to interrogate cellular machineries towards diagramming epigenetic network in human health and disease.
